I am in English 2010 with Professor Marchant as my teacher. He has asked us to prepare Blogs through out our class. In class, we wrote down five subjects that have been in the news in the last while and I am suppose to write about one of them. The subject I would like to write about is Government cutback verses the cost of living. The reason I am writing about this subject is because it affects my pocketbook and my way of life. Recently President Obama has put a feeze on cost of living increases for the next two years for Federal employees. However, the cost of health care went up and lets face it, the world is not going to put a increase freeze on food, gas, utilities, clothing, or any other essential part of living that we need. These are not wants, they are needs. They increase so quickly that it almost takes my breath away. Yet we paid billions of dollars bailing out the rich that made poor business choices. For those of us who work hard just to live, it is frustrating and defeating.

Yeah that government bailout was a huge mess. Without their help, the companies would have went under, and the middle class would have suffered from it as well. I agree that the government cannot freeze the people's necessities. I think the people elected a smart president and I think he has lived up to his title as our president so far. He has dealt with massive problems and I think he has dealt with them quite well. It seems as days go by that the dollar is depreciated, but I don't know if that has had effect on our cost of living.
