Articles

The two articles that I wrote about were very interesting tome.. The first article talked about three major fast food resaurants and the portions that they serve. The research shows that when the fast food industry started to increase the portions that they served, by 200% to 500% from when they opened their doors, it paralleled with the increase in which Americans gained weight. It was demonstrating that the fast-food industry does have a direct link to the rising of obesity in America.
The second article to an aproach to to theweight gain issue in America by try to see if people had bigger portions of food offered to them would they increase their energy dense food intake? Thaey gave people different portions of the same food every day for four days and the people didn't realize thatthey had eaten more some days. But in fact ate 30% more one day. This also dmoenstrates why Americans are gaining weight fromeating fast-food. It was very interestng to me!!

Change:

I went to do my research for the topic I had selected and could find nothing in the search engines!! So I have changed my topic to does fast-food restaurants have a direct link to the rising rate of obesity in America. The reason I chose this is because I have found myself at a weight I am not very proud of. I have recently started a diet to try and lse weight. We are doing a "Biggest Loser" contest at work so I have joined. There has been a lot of hype about fast-food contributing to weight gain and even a case in court where a mother attempted to sue a fast food restaurant for her son being obese. I think I will find this subject interesting. I am looking forward to learning more.

I am in English 2010 with Professor Marchant as my teacher. He has asked us to prepare Blogs through out our class. In class, we wrote down five subjects that have been in the news in the last while and I am suppose to write about one of them. The subject I would like to write about is Government cutback verses the cost of living. The reason I am writing about this subject is because it affects my pocketbook and my way of life. Recently President Obama has put a feeze on cost of living increases for the next two years for Federal employees. However, the cost of health care went up and lets face it, the world is not going to put a increase freeze on food, gas, utilities, clothing, or any other essential part of living that we need. These are not wants, they are needs. They increase so quickly that it almost takes my breath away. Yet we paid billions of dollars bailing out the rich that made poor business choices. For those of us who work hard just to live, it is frustrating and defeating.
